Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. At Charitable Pro we have a few fundamental principles that we follow:

  • We don't ask you for personal information unless we truly need it. (We can't stand services that ask you for things like your gender or income level for no apparent reason.)
  • We don't share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
  • We don't store unencrypted personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of our site.

Charitable Pro LLC operates several websites including Charitable Pro.com. It is Charitable Pro's policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.

Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Charitable Pro collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Charitable Pro's purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Charitable Pro's visitors use its website. From time to time, Charitable Pro may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Charitable Pro also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on our blogs. Charitable Pro only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to Charitable Pro's websites choose to interact with Charitable Pro in ways that require Charitable Pro to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Charitable Pro gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who comment on our blog to provide a username and email address. Those who wish to receive Charitable Pro updates via email, we collect their emails. In each case, Charitable Pro collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with Charitable Pro. Charitable Pro does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated Statistics

Charitable Pro may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Charitable Pro may monitor the most popular pages on the Charitable Pro.com site or use spam screened by the Akismet service to help identify spam. Charitable Pro may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Charitable Pro does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information

Charitable Pro discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Charitable Pro's behalf or to provide services available at Charitable Pro's websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Charitable Pro's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. If you are a registered user of an Charitable Pro website and have supplied your email address, Charitable Pro may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what's going on with Charitable Pro and our products. We primarily use our various product blogs to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. Charitable Pro takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor's computer, and that the visitor's browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Charitable Pro uses cookies to help Charitable Pro identify and track visitors, their usage of Charitable Pro website, and their website access preferences. Charitable Pro visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using Charitable Pro's websites, with the drawback that certain features of Charitable Pro's websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Usage Tracking

Charitable Pro collects certain information through usage tracking. The purpose of usage tracking helps Charitable Pro to better understand our users and their website needs by looking at a range of variables in their Charitable Pro plugin, WordPress, and web host. This information allows us to continuously improve our product as well as our Q&A / testing process. The information may include the license key (and type), plugin activation dates, form and entry statistics to help us make sure our features and updates get tested in situations that closely match our customers' site environments and Charitable Pro usage. In addition, Charitable Pro may collect statistics for its Charitable Pro Challenge that includes whether the challenge was started, whether it was completed, and how long it took to complete.

Google Analytics

This Website uses Google Analytics to collect information about you and your behaviors. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

Under CalOPPA we agree to the following:

  • Users can visit our site anonymously.
  • Once this privacy policy is created, we will add a link to it on our home page, or as a minimum on the first significant page after entering our website.
  • Our Privacy Policy link includes the word 'Privacy', and can be easily be found on the page specified above.

Users will be notified of any privacy policy changes on our Privacy Policy Page. Users are able to change their personal information by emailing us or by logging into their account.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under 13, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, the nation's consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children's privacy and safety online.

We do not specifically market to children under 13.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are a citizen of a European country, you may have specific data protection rights under the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR") and the equivalent Swiss arrangements. We aim to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal information.

  • object to processing or request that the processing of your Personal Information is restricted in certain circumstances or withdraw consent;
  • not be subject to automated decision making; and
  • request the transfer of your Personal Information.

Business Transfers

If Charitable Pro, or substantially all of its assets were acquired, or in the unlikely event that Charitable Pro goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Charitable Pro may continue to use your personal information as set forth in this policy.

Ads

Ads appearing on any of our websites may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Charitable Pro and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Comments

Comments and other content submitted to Akismet anti-spam service are saved on our servers unless they were marked as false positives, in which case we store them long enough to use them to improve the service to avoid future false positives.

Privacy Policy Changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, Charitable Pro may change its Privacy Policy from time to time, and in Charitable Pro's sole discretion. Charitable Pro encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to its Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
